Richard Skelton announced this week that he will be creating new prints of his late-wife Louise’s artwork, derived from her mixed media abstracts. The photo above show the completed prints for his Black Swallow and Crow Autumn Part Two releases on his Sustain-Release imprint. I recently received Black Swallow and will have much to say about it, for it marks a fairly major shift for Skelton into deeper improvisational territory. It is a most remarkable record and I recommend ordering it directly from Skelton.
He writes: “The idea is to create something resembling a glyph or sigil that encapsulates each release, and I’ll shortly be creating similar prints for each edition in the SRL catalogue. I’ll also (hopefully) be reissuing everything in new, silk screened editions in due course.”
