The Four Just Men, “I Just Can’t Make Up My Mind,” Wimple Winch: Tales from the Sinking Ship (Bam-Caruso, 2009)
When I was over at Other Music last Friday, they had this cranking through the speakers and it is one infectious disk. Starting out as The Four Just Men before they became Wimple Winch, these lads hailed from Liverpool and it is pretty clear which band was their primary influence. But they carved a psychedelic path beyond the other Merseybeat bands who all eventually dried up. Another song, ” Rumble on Mersey Square South,” kills as a hybrid, if you will, of Beatles and Zombies vibes.
