This bootleg of the engineer’s demos from the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot sessions bring one deep into the process. Now that you’ve had a few posts of old 78s here, listen to this with those ears and hear a tidal wave of early American rural roots music transformed into a lavish meal. What the band and Jim O’Rourke later did to the song as released further illuminates the great craftsmanship at work. Around the 6 minute mark and after listen to the rubbery guitar that comes forward in the mix. Great stuff.
