Greek Theatre, “Close in My Arms,” unreleased

As I wrote last night, this band from Stockholm is about the most exciting new group I’ve heard in years (I’d say only Grizzly Bear has gripped me from the start as hard and as fast). Their combination of instrumentation, harmonies, vocals sung with emotion and a real understanding for words, has me totally enraptured. Listen to the way they sing the word “grace” at the end of the first extended phrase. How that word trails off into the distance… that is the ineffable quality of beautiful music made by people who love what they do.
