Konntinent, “My Shoulders Are as Wide as Your Hope is Heavy,” Degrees, Integers(Symbolic Interaction 2009)

Mapsadaisical finds a terrific work of art here, and I encourage you to jump there to read about it. As Mapsadaisaical says:

“Phenomenal attention to detail is evident in the way it successfully blends a rich mixture of the adorable and the abrasive. Instrumental melodies, typically from the guitar, mingle with some serious processed sounds, bringing to mind Fennesz and Tim Hecker at different points. My favourite is “My Shoulders Are As Wide As Your Hope Is Heavy“, not just for its title, but for the moment its echoing guitar melodies give way to a middle section of deliciously deep drone and looped chanting. Elewhere, the huge harmonics and reverberations of “Call Gignas” are abruptly curtailed by the glitchy menace of “Sickyl Cell”, with Noto-like bursts of static punched through layers of piano and feedback, and then by “Grasp Of Math” which subsumes strings, sirens, and snatches of singing in storm surge.”
